JDownloader

Often when large files are uploaded to a one-click hosting website (for example, Rapidshare or Megaupload), the uploader will compress the file into a archive (.RAR or .ZIP file format) and split it into multiple parts. This is effective as it allows non-premium guests on the website to download files which are bigger then 1gb without having to dish out any money for the download. As well as this, it saves the user having to start the entire download again if the Internet unexpectedly crashes during a big download; instead, users can just resume the download from where they left off. The frustrating thing about this way of downloading however, is the fact that the user will constantly have to be at their computer and manually start each individual part to download from the one-click hosting website. This is where JDownloader comes in.

JDownloader is a Java based download manager developed by the "Jdownloader Team". This download manager is the essential tool to have on your computer if you wish to download files for free and achieve speeds much greater then torrents.

Personally, when I download files from the Internet I choose Jdownloader over torrents. I will explain why below:

Why is JDownloader faster then torrents?

Unlike with torrents, JDownloader doesn't use p2p sharing and therefore doesn't rely on needing to have somebody hosting the file for a user to seed from. It is simply reliable on the Internet and the servers that we are downloading the file from, and needless to say, servers are more reliable then people.

I highly recommend getting JDownloader running on your system. The below video will show you more about it:
